Hi
Found a cream Lab male ±4 – 5years old yesterday.
Posted an add in local newspapers, phoned vets, put up posters etc.
Would like to make him part of our home till his owners comes for him and if not keep him but have two females of my own.
A 7 year old Beagle that thinks the house belongs to her and a 9 year old Boerboel that is the alpha.
Will I be able to introduce the Lab to them successfully and have them live together in peace?
Do not know if he is house trained but if he lives with my other two he will be able to come into the house – can I house-train him and how?
He is well behaved but very lively and I think he might have a degree of hearing loss – can he be taught not to go out the gate when a car enters (currently he is overjoyed that someone is there and runs after the vehicle) and exits (and this is the problem because he wants to run after the car).
Will he pee on the bedding of my dogs if I introduce him to them successfully and he sleeps with them?
What about cats – we have 4 cats?
I know that Labs are very intelligent and I am sure that we will be able to teach him. I also know that Labs are not territorial neither are they fighters and that they love people!
I would really love to keep him and integrate him into our household as I do not believe in taking any animal to the SPCA!
Kind regards
