Send Your Dog on Vacation

December 10, 2013 By Guest

Send Your Dog on VacationHow far would you go for your best friend? They sit beside you with their head in your lap. They lick you on the face. They wait for you till you come home. They fetch the ball for you. They love you, no matter what. Ok, so we admit it: we are talking about your dog, not your golfing buddy. So what would you do for your best friend? How do you repay such loyalty and show your best friend you appreciate the way he is always there for you?

One of the most important ways to support your dog’s mental health and well-being is to find simple ways to engage him on a daily basis. It’s a good idea to take a look at your routine and discover ways to give him a little more stimulation and affection.

Here are a few ideas:

Give him regular treats for good behavior. Dogs love to make you happy, so why not give him something in return. Reward the tricks he does to delight you with his favorite treat or toy. Let him know you appreciate his attempts to please you.

Give him regular affection and dog grooming. Brush him often to get tangles out and pay attention to his coat for optimal health. A well-groomed dog is a happy dog, and grooming is a natural bonding experience.

Take regular walks with him. Dogs love attention. Giving him regular exercise through walking and daily routines helps keep his life in balance and he enjoys the human companionship it provides. Many dog specialists say he thinks he’s taking YOU on a walk.

Take him on a shopping spree. Dogs love to shop. Some have even been taught to shop online. But, until yours can accomplish this tech task, take him into a local pet shop and try out different toys. See which ones he responds to best and buy a favorite toy for him. Most pet stores allow you to let your pets try out toys before you buy them. Also, look for a fancy collar or clothing accessory, perhaps a new jacket or sweater for the cold weather ahead?

Talk to him when he’s bored or sad. Dogs, like people, sometimes feel down or depressed. Pick up his spirits with some playful time or attention from you. He’ll feel better in no time.

Introduce him to friends and other doggies. Dogs need a social life too! Remind him that there are other dogs in the world besides him! Introduce him to some hot chicks like a French poodle or frisky little terrier. And give him lots of male dog friends too to compare stories with. Sometimes a great way for your dog to meet friends is to introduce him into a dog boarding facility that gives him room to play and interact with the other guests.

Take his picture for the family album! You’re proud of your pet! Show off your love for him with some pet photography featuring his special moments or accomplishments.

Send him on a vacation to a dream resort. Last but not least, send him on a vacation! Sure, you’ve taken your dog with you on trips before. But what he really needs is a posh, vacation spot for dogs alone, away from you. Your best friend loves you, but hey, everyone needs some time alone once in awhile–a break from all the newspaper fetching and loyalty he does with you every day. Show your dog you really care by giving him the dream vacation of his life. A dog boarding camp can also come in handy. Find a great dog boarding facility in your area that optimizes relaxation and rejuvenation.

When looking for the perfect place, find a puppy vacation world that caters to his every need and incorporates many of the amenities mentioned above: exercise, fun, and frolic, a good diet, friends, and a social life. Allow your dog to retreat. He’ll come back better than ever and highly recommending the resort to friends and family.

So, if you’re wanting to do something special for your best friend, send him on vacation! What better way to show your dog you care than to send him to a high-class pet resort where he can enjoy all the amenities people do! How can you go off to a fancy hotel again and live like a king when your best friend misses out? Because sometimes the best thing you can do for someone you love is to send them away!
